Hah, well to be fair, my artwork presently serves as 50% of my active wallpapers as well.
Some of these don't have comments. There could be a few reasons for it -- it might have been uploaded late at night when I'm tired and just want to sleep after it finishes rendering, or I might not have been able to come up with something ultra-descriptive for it. Recently, I've tried to be more liberal in the description box!
I agree with you, I also like this more zoomed out. Some fractals just roll that way; they have some awesome aesthetic zoomed out, but when you zoom in, some of the details just don't behave in a way that complements the shape or dynamic of it when zoomed out.
That only makes sense! When I was in highschool and made crappy unmastered anime drawings, I still scanned them and put them as desktop backgrounds. Never served better than by ourselves right? Now considering how good what you make is, it'd be a shame to not enjoy it yourself lol.
"Recently, I've tried to be more liberal in the description box!" I support that.
Actually, after looking at it carefully, many zones of this image are very enjoyable zoomed in, and are lost when you zoom out. The only issue when zoomed in is the big american flag colored strokes in the middle (sorry to call them that way, just what came up lol), those strokes just hook your attention like a magnet, and prevent you from enjoying ... everything else! Every other section of the image has subtle textures that are worth getting lost in contemplation on.
