I know flowers aren't my general style, but I got bored with some old single xform fractal I made eons ago and decided to migrate it into something else!

Love this flower!
Now THAT's a flower.
The only reason I made it was because, unlike the classic way of making flowers, I did it in a way similar to how I make abstracts. I found coloring this incredibly hard though.
It definitely has your own style to it. Frankly I like this better than the "usual" flower style. It has a meaning to it.
The typical flower style isn't bad, but I just find it overused and often a source of easy popularity/views, neither of which I am overly concerned for. This was an experiment to see how possible it was to create a flower in a different way while retaining some of my own stylistic elements in it -- which was harder than it looked, and more restrictive than I would have liked, but still enjoyable to make once I got far enough into the design process.
I know what you're saying. I think it's a fun journey to take a concept which isn't you, and make it you. There's some saying about how having restrictions make a person's creativity reveal itself.
