Daylight Necromancy by ChaosFissure Daylight Necromancy by ChaosFissure
Nobody expected it, that's for sure.  Most dark magic is greatly weakened by the light, and no mages were known to be nearly powerful enough to summon significantly less powerful creatures during the daylight hours in a cloudless sky.  No traces of the caster were found afterward, and no incidents such as that have occurred for the past hundred years.

Ugggggh 21 hours of rendering and it's still grainy :dummy:  Additionally, this is probably the first time I've actually used Photoshop to remove some ugly circle near the mage's head, so huzzah for new and unusual things!

This is one of the coolest art pieces I have ever laid my eyes upon. Can I use this in my presentation about 'The fine-tuning of the universe', I will give you credits if I can have your permission to use it but it is not serious problem if you refuse. I am already grateful that my mind could have feasted on this awesome work of art :)

Not knowing the purpose or intent of your presentation, I'd have to ask for more detail before making a final decision!  I'd prefer to discuss this further by note, if you'd be so kind as to elaborate on why and how you'd be using my artwork.  Thanks!

W... wait, i don't... i don't get it, it's something abstract, isn't it? 'cause i'm not an expert in art you know.

It's partially abstract -- the character on the right is pretty literal, I think...the magic is pretty abstract though.

Even so, it that doesn't mean it can't make you feel certain ways when looking at :o

Yep, it looks pretty abstract to me. But it's great cause you can still build a story around the image. You can see how the mage is casting its spell.

I almost see the figure of a man on the right side. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but interesting, nonetheless :)

The figure is intentional.  Without him, I don't think it'd make too much sense XD

Do you come up with the short story before or after you create your piece?

The text for the story is always written after the image is finished.  However, the stories all exist before I begin working on artwork.  Sometimes, I let the artwork tell me what story it wants to follow, and other times, I know I want to use a certain one from the start.

Thanks :D

I'm friends with "Death and the Angel" and have engaged the Fates numerous times in my artwork, so I think I'll be okay. My soul has too much determination to let some measly Necromancy take it down XD

Thank you.

This originally was a "silly" image I made because I saw a figure in it and jokingly pasted it in chat...only for people to really like it. I decided to finish it up and make something from it, and honestly, I love the lighting and dark purple energy it has :D

Am always interested in your writings, it reminds me of my writing pattern in a way. I like the colours in this, they really represent the inactivity in the hundreds of years mentioned. Beautiful sight.

Much of what I write is an excerpt from a larger story.  Sometimes there's no proper introduction and we jump in medias res, as is seen here, and other times (such as with Frozen Feathers) there's a significantly longer windup.  The colors are a bit unusual, but I really enjoy how this color scheme turned out.  It does make it seem like a memory or retelling of a story due the focus on light and motion, as well as the blur, and due to the lack of clarity on the figure itself!
