Dragonfire Nebula by ChaosFissure Dragonfire Nebula by ChaosFissure
After bashing a bunch of stars around, they got angry and exploded in a fit of rage.  Here is the result :D

EDIT:  I couldn't resist trying to force some extra contrast in there via Photoshop...

Apo + Chaotica

Chaotica? I'm not sure I've ever heard of it. I love using apophysis, but that other one's new to me any chance you can enlighten me a bit as to what it is?

chaoticafractals.com/

It's still under development, but it does an amazing job rendering fractals, and I honestly think, at this point, all I use Apophysis for is an initial gradient, as well as the initial fractal creation.  All of my detail work is done in Chaotica.  Basically it can render certain Apophysis fractals (ones without 3D camera settings, and generally supports using most DLL's that Apophysis has using the appropriate bitwise version), and generally is much faster (and more stable) than Apophysis is.  The UI isn't perfect, but Apo(7x) has so many issues itself that I'm more than willing to overlook those features for the added rendering speed and ability to mess with details and stuff quickly.

This is a RAW fractal?! That is amazing!

I think I should check out Chaotica...

Well, as the description states, I did some minor tweaking in Photoshop to make it appear less whitewashed.  I don't consider imaging settings to make something not a "raw" fractal, as long as the structure of the fractal itself is not modified.

I agree. I don't think I've seen anything like this that was a raw fractal. I've seen other nebula-ish fractals that were close, but this is all the way.
