It's not something that one generally would run into, but with the surprising popularity that my work seems to have attracted lately, I guess more exposure for this type of art is happening!
I have been trying to apply what artistic knowledge I've learned through various art classes, and personal experience, to make diverse and interesting artwork that can be appreciated without needing an explicit explanation of what it is. I try to incorporate texture, "lighting," and color in ways that are generally atypical for classic fractal artwork, and causing people to do a double-take when they initially assume this to be a painting, photograph, or other form of artwork.
Mostly, though, I create artwork because I enjoy doing so, and because it sates elements of my mind that demand crazy color schemes, depth, and chaos. I enjoy sharing it as well, and always appreciate hearing that people find it interesting as well
