it looks like raw turquoise. Turquoise is one of my very favorite colors and stones.

That's what I thought myself -- Turquoise is a stone and color that I enjoy looking at myself,  I've always enjoyed looking at stones and other types of textures, and am always glad when I can wind up making something that resembles a natural stone or mineral in some way :)

There is something about this piece that is extremely pleasing to the eyes. I love the colors and well they all mix together. And I have no idea why but every time I look at it, I keep thinking of a rock that's been cut in half or else the different minerals in its core is showing on the outside. I can't really explain it. I also think of something rusting.

It's very beautiful. Great work. ^^

Thank you very much for the comment :)  When I was originally working on the colors for this, I got a few variants that looked even more "rusty," but I really liked seeing the turquoise-like colors. and decided to tone the red/browns down a bit.

You're very welcome. ^^

And I would say you made a good choice. The colors are absolutely perfect the way they are, they're not too dark and not too light. Also, the turquoise sets the whole piece off very nicely.
