Another entry for the "illustrate a story using fractals" group *tatasz and myself started here: fav.me/d6sxsxd

This particular scene is a direct followup from the first piece I made in the series, in which Red goes off the path for a bit.  "Shortcuts," because the path she's heading on is is obviously a shortcut to her Grandmother's house.  I'm very happy with how this turned out.

Loving the texture here. It makes me want to trace all the curly-q's with my eyes. It makes me think of pencil scratches on an old desk.

I have to admit, this personally is one of my favorite fractals that I have made in terms of what I feel I have accomplished in the process.  It wasn't fun to work with, and getting the colors turning out the way they did was an absolute nightmare.  I nearly trashed the progress made by this iteration (i.e losing all the detail from Red, which took roughly half an hour to shape) with an earlier version, but thankfully one of my last ditch efforts to get it to behave worked.  I definitely feel like it was worth it in the end though, and I absolutely love the texture of it myself.

I can definitely feel that you put a lot of work into it. The color blending of the silver to the yellowy-ivory really is unique, I love how you did it.

It's because I said "I'm very happy with how this turned out" rather than a giant paragraph on how it contains, from my perspective, a forced mess and amalgam of styles meshed together

Or it could be that people think it's a miscat...
