Description
The storms on the surface were stronger than we expected. We started ascending, hoping to orbit the planet - perhaps there'd be a clearing that we could shoot through not too far away. Unfortunately, a giant metal cage, even surrounded by defensive shielding, was a prime target for the storm's energy. The energy continuously barraged our shields, which weren't meant for continuous bombardment, and overloaded our systems in a matter of seconds. Damaged and unresponsive, our ship plummeted towards the planet's surface...
There's probably some relationship to Unsafe Reentrant Velocity and Landing Party.
