I enjoy working with texture and doing things like this. Though I've not done as much in this particular style recently, making "messy" things like this is enjoyable to make when I have the ability to do so
This has a real intensity to it I really like the light blue. It seems out of place in the gradient, but fits perfectly with the flow of this piece. Do you use the smooth palette option when you do these normally?
The blue light is a product of curving the thing in Chaotica! Sometimes I use Smooth Palette (not very frequently though), but for most of what I do I use gradients from other fractals I have made, randomized ones, or custom-created ones in UF.
I have made some tools for gradient editing, but they're not user-friendly. If there's a desire for one, I could try and create one for public use...
I enjoy trying to define what 'digital art' (especially fractals) can be. Texture is something I absolutely love, and consider a critical part of what I make. I would totally make paintings like this if I was able to paint and had the ability to do so! Having this style of artwork being compared to paintings is a very high compliment in my opinion.
Thank you very much for the comment, I appreciate it ^_^
